The King’s Philharmonic Wind Orchestra is an auditioned ensemble based in Aberdeen and is open to all professionally-aspiring musicians. The ensemble presents a challenging repertoire of opera and orchestral classics, wind orchestra originals, as well as premiers of commissioned compositions – here in Scotland, as well as on tour. The Orchestra is dedicated to provide young composers with the opportunity to write for a large wind ensemble, and to frequently work with emerging solo artists.

The Orchestra is open to both aspiring professionals as well as musicians with grade 7/8+ or equivalent standard from all universities, schools and the wider community who are keen to play challenging music and an attitude prepared to work intensively in only few rehearsal workshops leading up to the performances. International applicants who are staying for the full term are welcome to apply. Membership in the orchestra is by invitation, as well as through applications online.
