Rheinbreitbach. The District Choir Association of Neuwied, Germany, celebrated their seventieth anniversary with a concert performing Antonin Dvorak’s Mass in D Major op. 86. The project choir, founded especially for this jubilee performance, was supported by four soloists who were flown in from Edinburgh, Scotland, to sing with in front of a large audience in Rheinbreitbach: Lisa Johnston (Soprano), Megan Cormack (Alto), David Walsh (Tenor), and Dermot O’Connor (Baritone). The Choir Association were proud to have award-winning conductor Tobias Patrick Wolf lend his hands for this concert which turned out to be a great success. The four soloists started off this concert with a British programme and works by James MacMillan and Phillip Cooke before joining with the choir and organist Henning Rubach to perform Dvoraks‘s Mass in D.

The Kreismusikverband Neuwied (District Choir Association of Neuwied) are excited to have helped forming new connections between musicians of different backgrounds, ages, and nationality who all performed together in this concert. Conductor Tobias Patrick Wolf has pointed out impact that ‚music can have on our daily lives, but also on much larger things such as whole cultures, whole countries. This is something that we must not forget in times of Brexit & Co.‘
