If you are a professionally-aspiring musician or music enthusiast in- or out of university, play at Grade 8 distinction level, equivalent, or above, and are committed to music: The King's Philharmonic needs you and we would like to invite you to audition for our Orchestra. We perform a challenging repertoire including new commissions from emerging composers and with young solo artists and inspire young musicians through our education scheme. Membership and auditions are, of course, free of charge and you will receive feedback. There is a limited number of bursaries available to cover costs from your place in the orchestra such as travel expenses. Auditions are friendly, positive, and great learning experiences. Rehearsals in Aberdeen and concerts around Scotland are either on weekends, holidays or out-of-term time to ensure playing opportunities for commuting members.
The Orchestra is open to students from all universities as well as the wider community. International applicants who are staying for the full term are welcome to apply for audition. Auditions will be held in the MacRobert Building, University of Aberdeen, or through an online Face-Time or Skype interview.
